Rough Cut
Rough Cut: Ten one off garments that keep telling their story after the sale.
A Bournemouth studio making one off pieces for artists and brands. A tag sewn into each patch opens that garment’s own page: where it was made, how, and why.

one off garments, each with its own page
The brief
Rough Cut makes one off and small batch garments for artists, brands and cultural projects. The ask was to add depth, provenance and story to those pieces without changing how they are made: no visible hardware, no setup for the client, and no change to the design language.
What we built
A tag in the patch
Ten garment tags, configured by us and sewn in by Rough Cut, so the hardware lives where the label already does.
A page per piece
Title, story, photographs and the build video, opened by a tap. A Florence jacket shows Florence; a bomber shows the print being made.
Pages that grow
A piece can gain chapters after it is sold. Client builds launch with a holding page and fill in as the work is finished.
What we learned
A one off garment carries more story than its label can hold, and that story used to stop the day the piece left the studio. Putting the page on the garment, not on a feed, keeps it with whoever owns it.
The result
Shown publicly at the One Platz event. Ten pieces in the programme, five telling the studio’s own story and five built for clients.
What happened next
Two follow ons are scoped: a one of one commission with its own archive and mixtape, and a collection built around travel.

What people saw
The Tag, the Portal, the Office
What was in people’s hands, what it opened, and what the brand watched from Core.
There is no Portal or office to show here. Each piece was one of one, made for a private client, and each Portal was personal to its owner, so it stays private.
